Deep CCD photometry of the star clusters NGC 2162 and NGC 2190 in the Large Magellanic Cloud presented by Schommer, Olszewski, and Aaronson is used together with the new stellar models of intermediate-mass stars incorporating convective overshooting from central convective cores to derive the cluster ages and the LMC distance modulus. With a plausible choice of the reddening, hydrogen and metal content, and the use of the method of the luminosity function, the authors find cluster ages of 1×109yr and a true LMC distance modulus in the neighborhood of 18.4 mag.
