A map of the (J,K) = (5,5) line of NH3 toward the ultracompact H II region W3(OH), made with a 38arcsec beam, is presented. From the comparison of the absorption and emission lines of NH3 with H64α line data, the emission arises ≡8arcsec east of the continuum source and arises from the region where H2O and HCN emission is observed. This gas is probably heated by an embedded source with a luminosity ≥104L_sun;.
