The luminosity dependence of the orbital light curve of AM Her in its active state is investigated on the basis of yellow-band photometry in 1978-1979. When the system is at mean magnitude 12.4-13.1 m, the amplitude of the intensity variation is nearly independent of luminosity; but as the object brightens further, the primary maximum becomes more prominent and the light curve comes to resemble the nonflare curve of U Gem.
