Numerical calculations of the effect of the day-to-day variability of the longitudinal component of the electric field on the structure of the daytime equatorial F-region were carried out. It is shown that the mean scatter of electric-field values in quiet conditions produces changes in NmF and NT variations that reach 50 percent and changes in hmF variations that reach 25 percent. The changes that are due to the scatter of the values of the longitudinal electric field depend on local time and latitude.
