The central-configuration analysis of Nezhinskii (1980, 1982, and 1983) is extended to configurations comprising a point mass, a homogeneous sphere, and several homogeneous fluid drops. The existence of such configurations and the stability of the droplets (in the linear approximation) are demonstrated using the virial approach of Chandrasekhar (1969). Some numerical results are presented graphically, and the astrophysical analogs of these configurations are indicated: it is inferred that an open star cluster in circular orbit about the center of a galaxy can be dynamically stable.
