High-resolution spectrograms and atlases of stellar spectra are used to determine the palladium abundance in stellar atmospheres. The Pd I line at 3242.70 A is shown to be the only line suitable for determining this abundance. Via a comparison of the synthetic spectrum in the region of that line with the observed one, the palladium abundance in the atmosphere of Alpha CMi (F5IV-V) is found to be 1.60 dex on the scale N(H) = 12.00 dex.
