The authors present moderately high-resolution spectroscopic observations in the blue spectral region of CH Cygni, following the sudden drop in brightness in 1984 July. On the basis of these data they have distinguished five periods of the spectral evolution. The star has finally reached a nebular phase and forbidden lines of [O III], [Ne III], [S II] and [Fe II] are the strongest in the spectrum.
