The results of William Herschel telescope (WHT) obsevations of the candidate globular-cluster dwarf nova, V4 in M30 are reported. It is found that, on the basis of its quiescent magnitude and colors, its outburst magnitude and its radial velocity, V4 is likely to be a foreground object in the field of M30. In addition, it is probably a short-period system near the period gap.
