We present results to calibrate the Ca II triplet lines as a metallicity indicator in M supergiants. Stars in the open clusters h and chi Per, the Large Magellanic Cloud, and the Small Magellanic Cloud were observed in the 8400-8700Å region to derive equivalent widths of the Ca II triplet lines. The data have been analysed to derive correlations of equivalent widths with effective temperature, surface gravity, and metallicity.
