We describe the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) Near-Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec) Detector Subsystem (DS). The NIRSpec DS comprises two 5 micron cutoff mercury-cadmium-telluride Rockwell HAWAII-2RG sensor chip assemblies, two Rockwell SIDECAR application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) for focal plane assembly control, focal plane electronics, cables and software. We discuss the status of the DS development effort and available detector test results.
