Our team carried out radio observations of the Galactic Center as a part of the multiwavelength campaign to observe spectra and light curves of Sgr A* (see related talks this session). The radio part of this campaign included a observations designed to detect hourly variability of Sgr A* and to mitigate atmospheric affects at high radio frequencies. Several follow-up observations were carried out beyond the two time periods of the coordinated campaign observations.
In total, we acquired 32 radio observations (5-83 GHz) of Sgr A* in the period of March 2004 to February 2005 using the VLA, ATCA and BIMA telescopes. Significant (10-20 hourly variation (2-5 hrs) was detected in more than half of all observations. A single small (10 simultaneously at 22 & 43 GHz. We will discuss our analysis of the variability, including power spectra analysis. We consider the implication that the timescales for variability are indicative of dynamics of gas emission near the black hole.
