The paper proposes a method for estimating attitude accuracy according to the preliminary target-specification of a certain spacecraft axis or of instrumentation mounted on the spacecraft. The introduction of an image plane makes it possible to reduce the problem to the two-dimensional case and ultimately to the determination of the distribution function of the radial deviation of a random point for normal distribution on the plane. Cases of unequal mean-square deviations of the components of the random two-dimensional vector are examined.
