We propose an exploratory survey of the X-ray properties of double-peaked Balmer line AGN. Double-peaked low-ionization lines in the optical arise in the accretion disk surrounding the supermassive black hole and are an important diagnostic of the accretion flow. Chandra observations of a few representative AGN from a new, large, and homogeneous sample of disk-emission AGN will allow us to constrain the accretion mode(s) and the special conditions responsible for the strong optical signatures of the disk in this type of AGN. The targets proposed here were specifically selected to sample the luminosity/radio-loudness plane of the new SDSS double-peaked AGN sample, as well as to complement the previous small sample, which consisted of radio-loud objects with predominantly low luminosities.
