Scientific paper

We propose a series of (up to 4) 50 ksec Chandra/HETGS observations of a black hole transient in outburst. This program has achieved detections of relativistic Fe K-alpha lines and warm-absorber-like disk winds, both of which enable important and direct comparisons to Seyfert AGN. Additional detections of such features are critical for improving our understanding of black hole spin, disks, and the evolution of accretion flow geometries with mass accretion rate. We will support this program with a global multi-wavelength network of observatories.
