The effect of breaking symmetries in the vacuum on the growth of anisotropic tension fields in a homogeneous isotropic Minkowski space-time is investigated analytically, extending the theory of Grigorian and Saakian (1984) to treat the case where the (variable) gravitational constant depends on the local state of the medium. Equations of action, hydrodynamic equations, and gravitational field equations are derived.
