I have conducted a survey of 745 cool halo subdwarf candidates. Generally presumed to be members of the Galactic halo, these metal-poor stars are of interest because they provide details about the halo population and thereby about Galactic structure and chemical evolution. New photometry of halo subdwarfs provides better characterization of the red end of the metal-poor main sequence color-magnitude diagram. From spectroscopic observations I have obtained spectral types, metallicities, and kinematics of the candidates. These data represent more accurate and complete measurements of the properties of halo subdwarfs than have been previously obtained.
