Relict cosmological H II regions generated at redshifts of z approximately equal to 5-15 are discussed in terms of their hydrodynamical evolution. The resulting flow is considered both by means of an analytical solution and as the cosmological analog of an experimental shock tube. The H II region is enveloped by a thin shell, comprised of shocked material and exhibiting a velocity of 10-20 km/sec, which can cool and fragment into objects with baryonic masses reaching (1-100) x 10 to the 6th solar mass and column densities of 10 to the 19th/sq cm. The density of the IGM, the sound speed of the 10,000-K gas, and the age of the shell determine the velocity, mass, and density of the objects independently of the nature of the photoionizing source. When the filling factor of the H II regions reaches unity and the IGM is photoionized, the fragmentation ends.
