This is the second paper in a series on the optical follow-up of the B3-VLA sample, which is a homogeneous sample of 1103 radiosources selected from the B3 Catalog (complete down to S not less than 100 mJy at 408 MHz). Out of the 356 sources identified by Vigotti et al. (1989) on the Palomar Sky Survey using structural information from VLA maps and positional coincidence, 180 are quasar candidates. Using the 3.5 m telescope at Calar Alto, 19 spectra of quasar candidates were obtained. Out of these, 16 proved to be quasars, one turned out to be a galactic star and two are compact galaxies.
