Spectra of Comets Giacobini-Zinner (G-Z) and Hartley-Good (H-G) which were obtained from October 14 to November 11, 1985 observations with the 1.6-m optical telescope of the National Laboratory of Astrophysics in Brazopolis (Brazil) were analyzed to yield the production rates of CN and C2 cometary species and the dust production rates in the comae of the comets. It was found that, while the dust-to-gas production rate ration appears normal in the G-Z comet, the ratio for the H-G comet is extremely small. In both comets, the dust mass production rate and the dust-to-gas ratio were found to decrease with an increasing heliocentric distance.
