New Ca II and Na I observations are presented which definitely set the origins of the strong Ca II and Na I absorptions detected in the spectrum of HR2174, a possible Beta-Pictoris-like star. The Ca II origin is found to be mostly circumstellar; the Na I one interstellar. The consequences are twofold: first, the circumstellar (Ca II)/(Na I) ratio for HR2174 is close to the one observed in the case of Beta Pictoris; secondly, the strong Na I absorption clearly indicates the presence of a dense interstellar cloud closer than about 70 parsecs, in the direction of HR2174.
