Three types of resonant transitions of neutrinos in matter are identified: (1) a nonoscillatory transition, (2) an oscillatory adiabatic transition; and (3) a regime of adiabaticity breakdown. Resonant transitions are then examined in connection with the solar-neutrino problem. Finally, planned experiments in this domain of research are discussed.
