In this study, we present ultraviolet and optical spectra and photometric observations of SU UMa type dwarf nova VW Hydri during various activity states. Using the radial velocity curves of strong Balmer lines Hα and Hβ seen on the optical spectra, system parameters are obtained from a method given by Schoembs and Vogt (1981) as 0.91Msun < M1 < 1.28Msun, 30 < i < 60 degrees and 4.37 < q < 6.42. These results are discussed by comparing with other spectral studies and in particular with the works of Schoembs and Vogt (1981) and Cook (1982). Mass-loss rates of the order of 10E-13 < MdotL < 10E-14 Msun/yr were derived using the CIV lambda 1550 Angstrom P Cygni profiles identified in UV spectra of VW Hydri. The UV continuum flux distributions are generally consistent with an average value of 2.44 power law. We fitted the continuum flux distributions with blackbody curves ranging from 14500 to 48000 K. In the framework of Steady State accretion disks, this temperature interval may be explained by temperature layers within the disk. All spectroscopic data were compaired with AAVSO and ESO photometric data.
