MK classifications are presented for the components of close visual double stars with separations mostly between one and three arc seconds. Twenty-one pairs have individual components classified, four pairs have just the primary presented, and the composite classification is given for a further five pairs. Good agreement is found between the direct classification of individual components and an indirect classification method of Edwards (1976). Six evolved pairs are related to the theoretical isochrones of Ciardullo and Demarque (1977).
