The determinations of the rotation axes of three early-type radio galaxies, the radio sources of the Fanaroff-Riley class 1, were determined using absorption lines to obtain information on the dynamics of the stars. In two sources, the rotation axes are different from the minor axes of the images on Palomar Sky Survey prints, showing that the assumption of rotation about the minor axes made previously is not valid. The rotation axes for the three galaxies have no obvious relation to the major axes of the radio structures. This finding may indicate that the direction of the angular momentum changes with time if the radio emission is a consequence of accretion to a black hole in the galactic nucleus. The limits of nuclear velocity dispersions of galaxies indicating the limits which may be imposed on the luminosities of any dense star clusters which might surround black holes in the galactic nuclei are discussed.
