Scientific paper

The paper deals with new methods of detecting nitrogen oxide and water
vapor near the mesopause from its emissions. It is shown that changes in
water vapor concentration are primarily responsible for ionospheric
absorption variations in the D region that are not associated with
chromospheric flares and entries of ionizing particles.
