We use a time-dependent gasdynamic model to simulate the corona and transition region in an x-ray bright point loop. For this work we model a bright point observed by TRACE and SOHO on June 17, 1998. The magnetic field geometry is derived from an extrapolation of magnetograms. We study the effects of various hypothesized spatial and temporal distributions of heat deposition within the loop, including Joule heating at the footpoints or decay of standing Alfvén waves.
