The paper gives the derivation of equations connecting the orbital eccentricity of a planet with the mean orbital eccentricity and with the mass distribution function of the bodies encountering and falling onto the planet. It is shown that in the early stage of accumulation the orbital eccentricities of the planets were comparable with mean orbital eccentricity and increased with an increase in mean orbital eccentricity, and then decreased. By the end of the accumulation the calculated eccentricities lie within the limits given by Brouwer and Clemence for the present-day planetary system.
