Stark Broadening: Spectral Lines

Scientific paper

The measurements of the shape of the Balmer Hβ line in the cathode fall and negative glow regions of the abnormal glow discharge in pure hydrogen are reported. The electric field intensity distribution is obtained using polarization-dependent Stark splitting of hydrogen lines. Two groups of excited neutrals with significantly different velocities have been detected.
