An improved holographic Wadsworth mounting is proposed which employs an aspherical surface of the fourth degree, between a sphere and a paraboloid, characterized by its parabolization coefficient K. It is shown that this design is a new case of stigmatism, with the image quality remaining excellent over a large region around the point of perfect stigmatism.
