Values of the Franck-Condon factors and r-centroids are obtained for the e 1 Pi-X 1 Sigma + (6495 A) and 1 Sigma +-X 1 Sigma + (5860 A) singlet band systems of ZrO in light of the detection of these bands in the spectrum of the pure S star R Cyg. A Morse potential function is used in the calculation of the Franck-Condon factors, while the values of the r-centroids, which are required for the study of the variation of electronic transition moment with internuclear separation, are calculated by the method of Nicholls and Jarmain (1956). Results suggest the possible presence of new band heads in both systems and indicate the usefulness of a reinvestigation of the spectrum in the 5500-6600 A region. Expected band head positions are presented for the new bands to aid in laboratory and stellar spectral studies.
