High-resolution photoelectric measurements of the Ca II K line of Arcturus show the K(2V) emission peak to vary 1.7 times as much and in the opposite sense as the K(2R) emission. During the span of observations the ratio of violet to red emission peaks (V/R) varied from 0.80 to 1.05. The wavelength position of K 3 is found to change with V/R. The rise from K(1V) to K(2V) is more abrupt than the corresponding rise on the red side. Solar analog models and mass-loss models are considered in the light of these data.
