Periodogram and least-squares schemes can be highly sensitive to reflex motions when the orbital period P is substantially less than the length of the observing campaign Tobs. When P is comparable to or greater than Tobs, the sensitivity decreases dramatically. We consider the intermediate regime of periods comparable to Tobs, and evaluate the covariance between proper motion and long period reflex motion.
