Inspired by a recent 3D Type Ia supernova deflagration model by Khokhlov (astro-ph/0008463), we present spectra synthesized by a version of the direct analysis code SYNOW. The code was modified from the original 1D version in order to include the effects of aspherical compositions in the envelope. These modifications include (1) omission of multiple scattering to simplify the source function and (2) an explicit 3D composition grid used to calculate the spectrum. The effects of these modifications are small when compared to original spherically symmetric SYNOW spectra. One composition model tested is a simple mock-up of Khokhlov's result: small low-velocity clumps of Fe-peak elements and large high-velocity clumps with Fe-peak cores and Si-peak shells all embedded in an unburned CO component. Other parametrizations are explored in an attempt to deduce general constraints on asphericity from spectra. We compare spectra from such models to those from spherically symmetric ones, and address the dependence of spectrum morphology on the line of sight.
