Using the ISO spectroscopic data of a large sample of galaxies, we show
that gas-bearing galaxies generally have a near-IR continuum in excess
of their photospheric emission. We will discuss the spectroscopic
propeties of this continuum emission and argue that it arises from the
ISM of galaxies.
