Photometric and spectroscopic observations of the variable star XX Oph
are reported, as obtained mainly during the 1979-1980 minimum. The U,B,V
photometry indicates a nonmonotonic dependence of U-B color upon V
brightness. The 1979 emission-line spectrum had properties resembling
those observed during prior minima, between 1920 and 1950.
