The spatial cross-correlation functions of the galaxies in the IRAS QDOT survey with redshift samples of Abell clusters of galaxies and radio galaxies are analyzed. The results of the correlation functions are transformed into the power spectrum of the galaxy density field and compared with theoretical models. The similarity in shape among the cross-correlation functions for different classes of clusters, and the richness dependence of the amplitude of the cross-correlations, support the Kaiser (1984) model, in which clusters form at the locations of peaks in a Gaussian primordial density field.
