A significant contribution of local neutrons was observed in neutron field measurements in the near space carried out by the Cosmos-68, Salyut, and Skylab. Here, results of calculations of local neutron radiation, induced by protons in the space station material and in the neutron detector, are reported. The calculated local neutron spectra are compared with those of the neutron albedo calculated by Lingtnfelter (1963) and with experimentally measured cosmic neutron spectra measured on board an orbital station.
