The self-dual spin connection is used as primary field variable in the determination of space-time geometries which satisfy the Einstein field equations. The authors find that the simplest nontrivial Ansatz on the self-dual spin connection produces a space-time of the Kasner-type. In the case of gravitational instantons, an analogous form of the self-dual spin connection is shown to determine conformally flat space-times.
