The 21 comets observed in 1980 are described, including the 52nd return of Eucke's comet. In addition, P/Gunn, P/Gehrels 3, P/Smirnova-Chernykh, and P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 1 are all observable throughout their orbits. It has been established that Encke's comet turned its axis more than 100 degrees in 191 years, and the period of rotation of the nucleus is assumed to be 6.5 hours. Among comets seen for the first time are Bowell's comet with a magnitude of 16.5, the comet P/Wild 3 with a magnitude of 15.5, and the comet Cernis-Petrauskas with a magnitude of 11. The comet P/Brooks 2 was sighted after 6.9 years, P/Stephan-Oterma was seen again, but faintly, after a period of 37.7 years, and P/Tuttle has been sighted for the first time since 1967. It is determined that the comet Meier is in fact a diffused heavenly body, magnitude 10, with a central condensation.
