The gravitational significance of space-times which have hypersurfaces t = const as 3-spheroids is investigated. These space-times are utilized to develop static models which describe the gravitational field in the interior of superdense condensations of matter like white dwarfs and neutron stars. A static spherically symmetric model based on an exact solution of Einstein's equations is developed which permits densities of the order of 2 x 10 to the 14th g/cu cm, radii of the order of a few kilometers, and masses up to about four times the solar mass.
