A new and rare type of galaxy cluster, containing a large number of binary galaxies among the brightest members, has been discovered. Along with photographs of three prominent examples of the type, counts within annuli of two X Abell diameters are given for 10 examples. The potential importance of such binary-rich clusters for the mass discrepancy problem, and their implications for N-body simulations, are discussed. It is suggested that the average angular separation of binaries in a cluster might be used as a distance indicator.
