OH was detected toward six stars out of approximately 70 M supergiants that were searched for type I OH emissions, but is in most cases thought to not be associated with these stars. It is indicated by the results of this survey, in combination with earlier searches for Type II OH supergiants, that OH luminosities are lower for Type I than Type II supergiants. Effects similar to a trend toward OH luminosity increases with IR color index have been noted for OH Miras, though these stars generally have smaller OH luminosities and color indexes. Results are found to be consistent with OH supergiants having thicker dust envelopes than most OH Miras.
