A catalogue of sunspot groups which occurred at heliographic lattitudes greater than or equal to 40 degrees in the years 1874-1976 is presented based on the Greenwich Photoheliographic Results. In addition, the catalogue is used to verify the patterns of occurrence of high-latitude sunspot groups, and the velocity of the solar rotation at high heliographic latitudes are examined using the data about these sunspot groups. Among other results, it is shown more conclusively than in previous work (Kopecky, 1958) that the occurrence of sunspot groups at high heliographic latitudes is not a random phenomenon, but depends on the total level of solar activity. Also, it is demonstrated that groups occur at high heliographic latitudes not only at the beginning of the 11-year cycle, but predominantly at the time of the maximum of the 11-year cycle.
