The author has carried out hard X-ray observations of some X-ray binaries with the motivation of understanding accretion processes and magnetic fields of compact objects. He has studied spectral and temporal characteristics of X-ray binaries over the energy range of 20 - 100 keV using a balloon-borne xenon-filled multi-cell proportional counter telescope.
