J, K, and L photometry is presented of six isolated galaxies through 7, 14, and 22 arcsec apertures. The outer regions of these galaxies appear normal; the nuclear regions exhibit an excess of radiation in the ultraviolet as compared to normal galaxies which is not seen in the IR. This argues in favor of having its origin in thermal emission rather than synchrotron radiation. The emission is suggested to be a consequence of intensive formation of massive stars in the nuclei.
