Low temperature optical frequencies and absolute oscillator strengths at which NH(+) ion concentrations (caused by photoionization, charge-transfer, radiative association and ion-molecule reactions in the gas phase) are likely to be detected are given. Using the upper limit of the NH(+) ion column density in the direction of the zeta Ophiuchi cloud, upper limits are estimated for the equivalent widths of these optical transitions. Theoretically obtained CNDO dipole moments in the 0.90-1.30 A internuclear distance range are used to obtain the transition probabilities and oscillator strengths for the 0-1, 1-2, and 0-2 vibrational transitions in the ground electronic state of the NH(+) ion. Line positions are also given for the 0-1, 3.45-micron fundamental rotation-vibration band of the NH(+) ion.
