The connection between the nuclear activity and external environments of Seyfert galaxies has been the subject of intense study. Although there is evidence that Seyfert galaxies are located in denser environments than normal spiral galaxies, there has been no systematic investigation of the influence of the environment on the radio-emission from these AGNs. In a sample of about 150 Seyferts (both types I and II), we investigated whether the occurrence of radio emission is greater for galaxies in richer environments by an analysis of images from the Digitized Palomar Sky Survey. For the redshift range, 0.01 <= z <= 0.03, we find that the number of companions lying within 750 kpc of a Seyfert, with a radius of 0.3 and 1.7 times that of the Seyfert, shows no statistically significant difference between radio-quiet and radio-loud subsamples. However, on average, the radio-loud Seyferts do seem to have larger diameters than the radio-quiet examples.
