From analysis of radial velocity measurements the binary nautre of Pleione is discussed. A possible orbital period of about 35 yr was detected. This value also coincides with the variations of the spectral properties of the star (shell - non-shell phase). An elliptical orbit of high eccentricity (e greater than 0.75) is probable. The mass of the companion is probably not smaller than about 2.5 solar mass.
