We report on the detection of an embedded young cluster of ~ 200 sources at 1-5 mu m using KPNO 2.1 m telescope and NASA IRTF. This cluster is associated with IRAS 20050+2720, the source of a recently discovered multipolar outflow. More than half of the sources in the cluster show infrared excess, and are therefore pre-main sequence in nature. The cluster luminosity function resembles that predicated by the models for coeval clusters of ~ 1 Myr, although there is evidence in our images that star formation has spread over time. In fact, this cluster contains three subclusters at different evolutionary states. The youngest one seems associated with the origin of the multipolar outflow, and contains several extremely red sources. Two of these red sources are only detectable at lambda > 3 mu m, corresponding to deeply embedded class I objects. Our observations, therefore, support the suggestion that the multiple lobes of the CO outflow arise from independent outflows powered by different extremely young stars in this cluster.
