Assuming that local missing mass exists, we consider its total amount, its nature, and its spatial distribution, emphasizing brown dwarfs and less massive objects. We show that under these assumptions the problem of local missing mass is essentially the problem of determining the lower limit of the masses of stars in the process of formation. We propose in addition one other possible source of local missing mass: photometrically unresovable double systems. We show that under certain conditions they can make a significant contribution to the visible matter in the solar neighborhood.
